Fabulous fancy folds Southern Girls style

It's time for another challenge with us at the Southern Girls.

Today I have used the Feeling Spoilt digital stamp by All Dressed Up,
one of our generous sponsors this fortnight, adding fancy folds to this stylish image.

There are bundles of tutorials out in cyberland on how to make this front step / step panel card design.  This card folds flat for mailing.  I up-sized the card to fit this tall, elegant digital stamp.  Dimensions are detailed below is you would like to give it a try, just remember to burnish your folds firmly to ensure that your card stands proud and tall when finished.

Flat dimensions - 5 1/4" wide x 8" tall
Standing dimensions - 5 1/4" wide x 1 1/4" deep x 6 3/4" tall

I got distracted by the fancy folds and gone a bit out of sequence.  Once I had worked out the dimensions for all the panels, I sized the image to suit, printed it on X-Press It blending card, heat set then coloured with Copic markers.  I added Stardust Stickles to the earings and Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush to the bubbling glass of champagne and glass table top.

I had a lot of empty space to the right hand side of the image panel, so added some bling to the top then thought it needed more, so I punched a bundle of flowers from black and white cardstock, colouring some with a Copic marker, layering them black-pale blue-white and topping them with black rhinestones.

Here are some more pics showing the
dimension and some different views of these fancy folds.

Today I have used the Parrot Tangled Gems digital stamp from Lacy Sunshine,
one of our generous sponsors this week, to make an A5 top folding birthday card.

I printed the image on A5 X-Press It blending card, heat set then coloured with Copic markers.  I decided that this was going to be a birthday card for my brother and wanted to remind him of "home" so I gathered together some of my more recent galah photos and used them to guide my colouring.

Once coloured, I trimmed the image panel slightly, matted with black cardstock and layered on the matted card base with an accent strip that went below the image panel and the sentiment panel above it.  The sentiment is a die cut that I adhered to a cardstock strip, matted then added foam  squares for extra dimension.

It is a bit hard to see, but the sentiment strip is sitting high above the image panel and you can see parts of the coloured image when you peek under it.

I matted inside the card and added another die cut sentiment.

... this card is now flying over to the USA to remind my brother of home

We're having monstrously good time on the . . .

My Besties Spanish Challenge Blog!

Yes, it's time for another challenge with us at the
My Besties Spanish Challenge Blog

Our challenge for January is
January Challenge #43 - Anything Goes

Remember:  You can participate with ANY project; altered, scrapbooking pages, cards, and anything you can think of.  If you have My Besties images, that would be ideal, but you can use any kind of stamps or digital stamps.
And also remember: You are playing for My Besties digital Stamps!

~~~*~~~*~~~
Today I had the pleasure of colouring and creating with the super cute
Sherri Baldy's My Besties scan0005 mini monster digital stamp.
My card started on the design mat of Silhouette Studio, as I wanted my monster to be part of an easel card with a drawer, so that I could tuck some money inside.
Lots of pieces and fancy folds.
I enlarged the cut file (details below) so that the largest piece just fitted on a 12x12 sheet of cardstock, adding extra matting layers for the easel card and the drawer.
I sized the googly-eyed monster to fit on the card front, printed on textured cardstock (yes, textured), cut with the Silhouette Cameo, heat set then coloured with Copic markers.
I think the textured cardstock worked well with his fur.
I cut all the pieces for the card and drawer.  I die cut some alphas to make the sentiment but found that they were too large to fit on the card front, so I created a digital sentiment, printed it on textured cardstock and cut the fancy shape using my Silhouette Cameo.  The sentiment panel is a different cut file from the Silhouette Design Store (details below).  I matted it with black cardstock to match the card panels and popped it in place with foam squares to make a little ledge for the easel front of the card to sit up against.  I assembled the easel card and drawer, then adhered them together to complete the project.
Lucky last came the coordinating box to "wrap" it all securely.
NOW it's YOUR turn!
I hope that I have inspired you to get creative with your
My Besties (or other branded) images and make a project to enter the
A turtle with wings and gears for birthday cheer
Today I have used the Steampunk Turtle digital stamp from Rick St. Dennis, one of our generous sponsors this week, to make a masculine birthday card.
I started with my Silhouette Cameo design mat, a cog/gear cut file and a hinge cut file.  I used the cut file to make a 6x6" frame with a double layer for contrast.  I sized the image to fit perfectly inside then printed it on vanilla textured cardstock.  I thought it would be fun to try my Copic markers with texture.  I heat set the image panel and coloured with Copic markers, adding white gel pen to the "white" of the eye and the gauge on the motor.  This was my first time using YG91-93-95 and I'm really pleased with how it looks on the shell with a touch of E31 & E35.
I used a Copic marker (YR23) to colour silver brads,  making them match the metal elements of the image.  I adhered the hinge layers together, secured the brads then adhered the hinges over the top fold of the card.
I used the "negative" bits from the cog/gear layers
to make a sentiment panel inside the card,
then added a triple layered sentiment.
Here are some more pics.
