Today I have used the Rose digital stamp from Doodle Digital Stamps,
one of our generous sponsors this week, to make an easel card.

The card is 6 1/4" x 4 1/4" ... yes, an odd size but it was originally 6"x4", until I decided it needed another black layer and black base.

I sized the image on my Silhouette Cameo cutting mat, along with the sentiment, printed it off on X-Press It blended cardstock, heat set then cut the oval panels using my Silhouette Cameo.
I cut the black oval matting layers for my image and sentiment using my Silhouette Cameo too.
I coloured the image using Copic markers.
The matting layers were cut from different shades of pink, to match the pinks used on her dress.
(base & mats are: 1/4" x 4 1/4", 6"x4", 5 7/16" x 3 7/16", 5 1/4 x 3 1/4")

The card base was cut from a 12x12 sheet of black textured cardstock, cut into a strip  4 1/4" wide.  I scored the strip at 6 1/4" then 9 3/8" to make the top and easel folds.
How are you at maths?
Things adding up?
... I confess, there is a 1/2" strip behind the bottom of the front panel that doesn't have a base.  I have decided that it can be a fun surprise space to write that it was "made by me".
I adhered all the layers together using liquid adhesive.
Note: there are five black ovals under the sentiment panel, giving it a nice solid height so that the front of the card can be wedged against it to hold the fancy folds open in place.

Next came the time for embellishments.  This was originally going to have bling in the matted corners around the oval but once the black base was added it called for more black in the form of flourishes, flowers and bling.  The flourishes are die cuts and the flowers punched.
Together they give such pretty dimension, sparkle and shine.

Even though it is an easel fold, the card can still stand up like a normal top folding card.

Here is the front closed view and a peek inside.

Joyful Greetings

No, you're not seeing things.  I had so much fun creating with the Joyous Elf digital stamp from Rick St. Dennis, one of the generous sponsors for our latest challenge at the Crafty Gals Corner that I had to make a second card... and think I'll be making even more!

Here is my Joyous Elf Joyful Greetings card.

I hope it makes you smile :)

My card is a 6x6" top fold.

This card uses the Joyous Elf digital stamp from Rick St. Dennis.
I printed the image on X-Press It blending card, heat set then coloured with Copic markers in a solid bright cheery colour combo, with lots of shading and rosy cheeks on his face.  I trimmed the panel down to 3 1/2" square, matted with green cardstock.  I matted the card base with green and white textured cardstock then adhered four panels of pretty patterned paper, topping it off with the matted image panel.

The sentiment and bow are die cuts by Paper Smooches.

I finished off the card with a touch of Wink Of Stella sparkle on each of the bells.

Here are the Holiday Cheer and Joyful Greetings cards together.
It's difficult to see, but the Holiday Cheer card has two extra black matting layers.
Which one do you prefer?

HO HO HO ... Holiday Cheer!

The challenge is "Any Holiday" and today I have used the Joyous Elf digital stamp from Rick St. Dennis, one of our generous sponsors this week, to make a cute and cheery Christmas card.

My card is a 6x6" top fold.
I printed the image on X-Press It blending card, heat set then coloured with Copic markers.  I coloured a couple of images with lots of shading then decided that this little elf needed solid bright colours.  I trimmed the panel down to 3 1/2" square, matted with black then green cardstock.  I matted the card base with green, black and white textured cardstock then adhered four panels of pretty patterned paper, topping it off with the matted image panel.

The sentiment and bow are die cuts by Paper Smooches.

I finished off the card with a touch of Wink Of Stella sparkle on each of the bells.

I had so much fun with this little cutie that I made two cards.

Some more quirky cuteness . . . with wings

You might remember my exciting news from a couple of weeks ago ...
I am Guest Designer on the Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog for the month of June.

~~~*~~~*~~~
This is my 2nd project to share and this time my Quirky Thing With Wings is the adorable Mini Bird Mummy digital stamp from Limited Runs Digital Stamps (one of the generous sponsors this month) to make an action wobbler card
.
It makes for a quirky mix of cuteness, spookiness and interactive fun.
I printed the image on X-Press It blending card, heat set, coloured with Copic markers, fussy cut then went around the edges with a Memento marker.  I added a luscious coating of Glossy Accents to the eyes, using my piercing tool to drag it out to all the corners and edges, then left it to dry overnight.
 The "BOO" sentiment was cut from black cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo and the "untitled" font.  These were coated with a thick layer of Glossy Accents and left to dry overnight.
I added a panel of embossed patterned paper to a 6 1/2" tall x 6" wide card base.  The spooky trees add great texture and the shine catches the light.
I placed pairs of spooky eyes in to the gaps, peeking out from between the branches.
I took an Action Wobbler mechanism and placed it under my bird, working out where it balanced evenly, then removed the backing tape and adhered the top of the mechanism to the back of the bird.  I peeled of the backing from the bottom of the mechanism and adhered the wobbling bird to the front of the card, pushing it down firmly.  This pic shows the dimension of the mechanism.
Here is a short video showing the cool wobbler action of my quirky thing with wings.
Sticky Business with Team Lou at the Southern Girls
It's time for another challenge with us at the Southern Girls.
This fortnight Team Lou have created projects to inspire you for the new challenge
This fortnight we are all about sticky things!
We want to see things stuck on your projects,
things like Washi Tape, Sequins and Enamel Dots and more.
Our generous sponsors for this challenge are
KC   Ppinkydolls
~~~*~~~*~~~

Today I have used the super cute Unicorn Besty digital stamp by Ppinkydolls, one of our generous sponsors this fortnight.

I printed the image on X-Press It blending card, heat set then started colouring with Copic markers.  I spent some time learning more about unicorns before the colouring began, with some fun blending lessons.  Copic markers with the same saturation number (1st number after the colour letter/s) or the same brightness number (the 2nd number after the colour letter/s) blend well together and make for interesting new colours.  My unicorn's mane is a combination of E00-BV00-B00, with a touch of E11 to add a richness to the darkest portions created with E00.

On a side note, I did have a little experiment before I finished colouring and thought I would share another couple of blending combos using some smaller image panels.
BG01-YG01-R01              BG00-YR12-YG13

Back to my birthday card.  After the colouring was completed I trimmed the image panel down and matted with black cardstock, trimming it to a 1/16" border with my Perfect Layers ruler (a very cool tool).  I made a huge square top folding card base (... dare I confess that it's 8x8"?!), matted it with black cardstock in readiness for some sparkle.  I cut two panels of heavy glitter cardstock (it's from Kaisercraft, so much sparkle, a pleasure to cut and no, I repeat NO, loose glitter).  I made a glitter tape rainbow along the side of the darker blue panel, looping the strips around the back to keep them securely in place.  I adhered the glitter panels to the card base, then the image panel.  I cut three clouds from crystal glitter cardstock and covered them with sequins in a variety of sizes.  The clouds were overlapped and popped in place with foam squares of different thicknesses.  I went a bit sequin crazy when I started adding the "sparkling rain" ... warning, sparkling clear sequins are addictive and fun!  The sentiment panel was a combination of fonts, printed on the same cardstock as the image panel (so that the whites matched) with the black matting trimmed down to 1/16".  I popped the sentiment panel with foam squares.

Here a pic to show the dimension of the clouds and sentiment panel.

I can't resist another couple of pics, the image and sparkle of this card are so magical and happy together ...
